Travel Awards and Grants
The ISTH 2019 Scientific Committee will reward abstracts of outstanding quality and provide the submitting author with a Travel Grant to attend the ISTH 2019 Congress. Two categories of Travel Grants will be available in limited number to the abstract submitters.
Early Career Award
The Early Career Awards are provided in the form of travel grants to medical trainees and young scientists (under 40 years of age as of July 5, 2019) who submit a highly rated abstract. Travel grants, consisting of $500 USD, are specifically intended to help with travel to the Congress. In order to be considered for an Early Career Award, you must be the first/presenting author on an abstract submitted to the Congress. Authors applying for an Early Career Award will be notified in their abstract notification email which will be sent in early-April 2019.

How to apply for an Early Career Award
Early Career Award

- You must be the first author of a submitted abstract
- 40 years or younger of age (for 2019: authors born after July 5, 1979)

- Fill in the relevant questionnaire
- Provide a copy of your passport
Reach-the-World Award
The Reach-the-World Grants are provided in the form of travel grants to clinicians and scientists from developing countries (countries classified by the World Bank as low income, lower-middle income, or upper-middle income) to help subsidize travel to the Congress. Travel grants, consisting of $2,000 USD, will be available for those who are the first/presenting author on an abstract submitted to the Congress. Authors applying for a Reach the World Award will be notified in their abstract notification email which will be sent in early-April 2019.

The Reach-the-World Grants are provided in the form of travel grants to clinicians and scientists from developing countries (countries classified by the World Bank as low income, lower-middle income, or upper-middle income) to help subsidize travel to the Congress. Travel grants, consisting of $2,000 USD, will be available for those who are the first/presenting author on an abstract submitted to the Congress. Authors applying for a Reach the World Award will be notified in their abstract notification email which will be sent in early-April 2019.

- You must be the first author of a submitted abstract
- Be from a developing country as defined by the World Bank as low income, lower-middle income, or upper-middle income

Only complete applications will be considered. The deadline for travel grant applications, supporting documents and additional information is February 4, 2019. To be eligible for the award, the recipient must attend the Congress, and members of the ISTH will be given priority.
